ZUG, Switzerland — Siemens Smart Infrastructure has been named as one of the leaders in building operations by the independent research and advisory firm Verdantix. The recently launched report “Green Quadrant: IoT Digital Platforms for Building Operations 2024” found that Siemens’ Building X provides a comprehensive digital suite for advancing digital building operations. Verdantix not only highlights the platform’s flexibility to scale digital building operations, but also the multiple entry points for organizations to engage with its functionality.
Building X is a digital building platform that supports customers to digitalize, manage, and optimize their building operations. This leads to the automation of buildings, reduced maintenance costs, lower energy consumption and improved sustainability, resulting in a profitable buildings portfolio. It is part of Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform that enables customers to accelerate their digital transformation easier, faster and at scale.
“About 80 percent of total building lifecycle costs are attributed to operations and maintenance. This is why building owners and managers are increasingly looking for cost-effective ways to optimize operations, while improving occupant experience,” said Rahul Chillar, Executive Vice President, Software, Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings. “We are delighted to learn that in the latest Green Quadrant report focused on building operations we received such a high ranking from Verdantix for our digital building platform, Building X.”
The study provides a detailed assessment of twelve prominent platform providers and their product offerings. The analysis involved a detailed 92-point vendor questionnaire, three-hour live briefings, and product demonstrations with vendors, including coverage of specific usage scenarios, as well as customer interviews and secondary research.
