Savant Systems LLC of Hyannis, Mass. recently acquired LiteTouch Inc. of Salt Lake City.
“Our sales channel has been asking for a lineup of lighting control and integrated keypad products from Savant that operate in concert with Apple iOS devices to manage and control a vast array of connected home and commercial technologies,” said Savant Systems CEO Robert Madonna.
Savant Systems General Manager Jim Carroll told CE Pro magazine, “We were the last major control player without its own lighting control.”
LiteTouch is a well-known name in the industry, dating back to its entry into the lighting control market in the late 1970s. Nortek bought LiteTouch in 2007.
Separately, Carroll talked to Custom Retailer. A five-question Q&A posting included this interchange:
“JC: LiteTouch is a 30 year company and there are powerful opportunities for inclusion into other channels where LiteTouch is. The end-users are the same; the channels are exciting with greater opportunities.
“CR: What key channels are you referring to?
“JC: Electrical distribution, specifiers, lighting designers, a/v dealers that we do not have a relationship with today.”
