WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Omni Cable’s Corporate Office, headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, was proud to host Hope Partnership for Education’s fifth-grade class for Career Awareness Day on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
Hope Partnership for Education works to effect positive change in the lives of families in the Fairhill neighborhood of Eastern North Philadelphia by providing quality education services to a community known to be underserved and overlooked through its middle school, graduate support program and adult education program.
During Career Awareness Day, the children learned about Omni Cable, what the company does, as well as toured the facility and various departments. “Visiting Omni Cable was a new and exciting experience for our 5th graders,” said Samantha Hall, Hope Partnership for Education’s Director of Development. “The students enjoyed their time making new friends. They are eager to return next year and have already spoken to the executives about their interest in high school and college internships with the company,” she added.
In addition to participating in the school’s Career Awareness Day and funding Hope Partnership for Education through its annual FriendRaiser event and PA’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, Omni Cable employees volunteer their time and are members of the school’s board. “By getting involved in Hope Partnership for Education’s events like Career Awareness Day, we have gained a greater appreciation for the difference the school is making in the lives of their students and the community of Eastern North Philadelphia,” said Steve Glinski, Omni Cable’s CFO and Hope Partnership for Education’s board member. “I would like to thank our employee-owners and the other companies who participated in Hope Partnership for Education’s Career Awareness Day and took the time to share their career experiences with the students,” he added.
