Coopersburg, PA – Lutron Electronics, the leader in energy-saving, wireless light and shade control, is solidifying its leadership position in the building automation community. Lutron was recently honored by BACnet International with the Fox Hound Award during the annual “Leaders of the Pack” gala in Las Vegas, Nev.
BACnet is a communications protocol that allows communication of building automation and control systems for applications such as heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control, lighting control, access control, as well as fire detection systems and their associated equipment.
According to BACnet International officials, the Fox Hound Award goes to a company that quickly and stealthily came up from behind in BACnet International. In the last two years, Lutron joined BACnet International as a silver member, and participated in both PlugFest events and on BACnet International’s Education Committee. Lutron recently achieved the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) Listing for its Quantum® total light management system processor, thus firmly establishing the company as an early adopter and pioneer in virtual BACnet networks.
“This is the time when we recognize individuals who through their hard work and dedication continually enrich this organization,” said Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International. “Within the BACnet International community, there are members who consistently go above and beyond to make BACnet an effective and successful building automation standard and we are proud to recognize them as ‘Leaders of the Pack.’ Please join me in thanking Lutron for their unfailing devotion and service to BACnet International and the BACnet standard,” said McMillan.
