Hitachi Energy Strengthens Executive Leadership Team

Hitachi Energy is strengthening its Executive Leadership team with the appointment of Wolf Mueller and Luis Ramos as of April 1, 2025.

Service is a key enabler to accelerate the sustainable energy transition by strengthening and future-proofing the installed base, extend asset life cycles, increase capacity and energy efficiency. To achieve this, a new Service Business Unit is established to sharpen the focus on service capabilities as a trusted lifecycle to meet the evolving needs of the energy sector as a trusted lifecycle partner. Hitachi Energy is further expanding its global presence and service solutions portfolio powered by digital technologies.

Wolf Mueller

Wolf Mueller is appointed as Executive Vice President and Business Unit (BU) Managing Director for Service at Hitachi Energy.

Wolf joined Hitachi Energy’s predecessor in 2018, serving as Senior Vice President of the Service function for Grid Integration Business Unit with prior leadership roles at ABB Power Generation, Alstom Power, and General Electric. With 30 years of Service business experience in the energy sector, he has a strong track record in driving service excellence to propel the company’s ambition to become the number one service provider.

Wolf holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Braunschweig, Germany, and serves on the boards of Fairwind AB and BringKids2Schools.

Luis Ramos

To support the company’s growth plans, drive synergies, and enable increased momentum and visibility in the global market, Luis Ramos is appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Communications & Government Relations Officer.

Luis joins Hitachi Energy from HH2E, a pioneering green energy startup in Germany, where he developed and led Communications from the company’s inception to its sale. He previously worked for two years as Global Head of Corporate Communications and Government Relations for Uniper and spent six years as Global Head of Communications at thyssenkrupp Elevator. Before this, Luis spent twelve years working as Director of Communications & Public Affairs across both South Europe and South America, as well as South Europe, Brazil, and India for Bombardier Transportation.

He holds a degree in engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal. He also holds a degree in political marketing, and executive programs in branding, strategies, and sustainability.
