Global Semiconductor Sales Increase in October

WASHINGTON — The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) announced Thursday that global semiconductor sales were $72.7 billion during the month of October 2025, an increase of 4.7% compared to the September 2025 total of $69.5 billion and 27.2% more than the October 2024 total of $57.2 billion. Monthly sales are compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization and represent a three-month moving average. SIA represents 99% of the U.S. semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip firms.

“Global semiconductor sales continued to increase in October, topping September’s results and far outpacing October of last year. Growth continues to be driven by sales into the Americans and Asia Pacific,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. “Meanwhile, the 2025 WSTS autumn forecast calls for record-breaking global market growth in 2025, with sales projected to approach $1 trillion in 2026.”

Regionally, year-to-year sales in October were up in the Americas (59.6%), Asia Pacific/All Other (24.8%), China (18.5%), and Europe (8.3%), but declined in Japan (-10.0%). Month-to-month sales in October increased in Asia Pacific/All Other (7.2%), China (4.4%), the Americas (3.5%), Europe (3.5%), and Japan (0.6%).

Additionally, SIA today endorsed the WSTS autumn 2025 global semiconductor sales forecast, which projects annual global sales will grow by 22.5% to $772.2 billion in 2025. In 2026, global sales are projected to reach $975.4 billion, revised up from the spring estimate of $760.7 billion. WSTS tabulates its semi-annual industry forecast by gathering input from an extensive group of global semiconductor companies that provide accurate and timely indicators of semiconductor trends.
