Siemens Unveils AI-Ready Industrial DataCenter Platform

Munich, Germany — Siemens recently introduced an updated version of its Industrial Automation DataCenter at Hannover Messe 2026, adding capabilities to support artificial intelligence applications in manufacturing environments. The system is designed as a pre-configured, turnkey platform that combines IT and operational technology (OT) functions, including high-performance virtualization for OT applications, backup and restore capabilities, data archiving, and an industrial demilitarized zone that effectively separates IT networks from OT environments.

The latest version incorporates edge computing infrastructure for powerful AI acceleration, enabling AI workloads such as predictive maintenance, image-based quality control, and process optimization to run directly at the edge. It also integrates cybersecurity tools from Palo Alto Networks, intended to address risks associated with increased connectivity and data processing in industrial settings.

According to Siemens, the platform is delivered pre-installed and tested to reduce the time and complexity typically required to deploy AI-capable infrastructure in production environments. The company also emphasized the system’s ability to separate IT and OT networks and support real-time data processing while maintaining operational continuity.

“The growing demand for industrial AI requires a high-performance infrastructure that can securely process massive amounts of data directly at the edge,” said Arik Roztal, senior director of Cybersecurity Business Development at NVIDIA. “NVIDIA accelerated computing combined with NVIDIA BlueField equips the Siemens Industrial Automation DataCenter to provide manufacturers with a validated, secure platform to accelerate their AI transformation and unlock real-time intelligence in production environments.”

The offering includes remote monitoring and support services, with Siemens providing continuous remote monitoring of IT/OT infrastructure, comprehensive cybersecurity measures, regular maintenance and preventive measures, and rapid support in the event of incidents. The update reflects broader industry efforts to bring AI capabilities closer to industrial operations while managing integration and security challenges.
