WEST HARTFORD, CT – The adorne™ Collection of inventive light switches, dimmers, outlets and design-driven wall plates achieved an IDEA Bronze Award in the 2013 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) competition. The prestigious awards program is administered by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
“We’re thankful to receive this coveted win, which tells us that we have truly raised the bar in our market,” said Philip Prestigomo, director of industrial design for Legrand, North America. “Diligent research over five years led us to several conclusions, including how much opportunity there is in reinventing the household light switch — a fundamental aspect of the home which has seen little design and technological innovation in the last 100 years.”
The adorne Collection introduces seven new models for light switches, each providing a unique on/off activation and user experience. Standout products include the Touch™ Switch which uses touch screen technology; the Wave™ Switch, which activates lights with the wave of a hand; and the SensaSwitch™, which turns lights on and off when people enter or leave a room. The switches, dimmers and outlets are completed with adorne wall plates, which come in 32 finishes.
