Cooper Industries has named Grant Gawronski as Group President. In this role, Gawronski will be responsible for the Cooper Crouse-Hinds, Cooper Safety and Cooper B-Line divisions.
The company also announced that Ivo Jurek has been named Group President over the Cooper Power Systems and Cooper Bussmann divisions.
“These leadership changes facilitate cross-divisional collaboration as we invest globally in new markets and new verticals,” Cooper Industries Chairman and CEO Kirk Hachigian said.
Cooper Industries also recently announced the acquisition of three companies—Changzhou Yuhua Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Blinda Industria e Comercio Ltda, and GE’s Industrial Systems British Standard fuse-link product portfolio.
According to a company news release, combined sales for the three acquired companies for 2011 will be approximately $36 million. The combined purchase price was around $56 million.
Yuhua, a Chinese company, will be part of the Cooper Safety division. “Yuhua specializes in research, development, and production of explosion-proof CCTV systems and explosion-proof communication systems certified for use in onshore and offshore oil and gas, marine, mining, and petrochemical markets,” according to a news release.
Brazil-based Blinda, will become part of the Cooper Crouse-Hinds division. The company makes explosion-proof products for the oil and gas markets, such as panel boards and lighting.
GE’s Industrial Systems British Standard fuse-link product portfolio is now a part of the Cooper Bussmann division. The company says this acquisition will “…strengthen Bussmann’s over-current circuit protection portfolio globally, especially in India and Australia.”

Over the last six years, Cooper Industries has acquired 12 companies in the oil and gas market.
In addition to the promotions and acquisitions, Cooper Industries has also announced that the company was recently named a Best in Class selection in the Interactive Media Awards (IMA). The honor was given in both the Energy and Building/Construction categories.
The Web Marketing Association also awarded Cooper Industries’ website with an Outstanding Achievement Award in web development.
