Cooper Industries recently announced that it has acquired Oakville, Canada-based Fifth Light Technology, Ltd.
According to a company news release, Fifth Light “specializes in the design, sale and implementation of digitally addressable lighting interface (DALI) solutions and a suite of centralized building management software applications.”
Fifth Light has installed more than 100,000 energy saving control devices across North America over the last few years.
Through the acquisition, Fifth Light will become part of Cooper Lighting—specifically, part of the Cooper Controls unit. The purchase of Fifth Light marks the fifth “controls-related acquisition” for Cooper Lighting.
Cooper Industries Chairman and CEO Kirk Hachigian said, “The acquisition of Fifth Light expands our ability to integrate controls solutions with solid state lighting technologies, enabling our customers to significantly reduce their energy consumption while also improving the light quality of their facility.”
